Proudly partnered with The Canadian Chiropractic Association

We are delighted to announce a new collaboration between Oakley Coaching and the Canadian Chiropractic Association (CCA), who will be offering our online training course on “LGBTQ+ Healthcare: Key Considerations for Canadian Clinicians” to their members as part of their commitment to supporting CCA members in delivering equitable, affirming and inclusive care for all. The course will launch on 30th June 2022, to celebrate the end of Pride Month.

Our online course is the first of its kind, covering the clinical considerations of providing hands-on care to LGBTQ+ patients helping facilitate understanding of the globally recognised health inequalities faced by LGBTQ+ people and the impact these inequalities have on access to healthcare, specific healthcare needs, and outcomes from care. The course provides participants with a robust understanding of both clinical and practical considerations to better meet the specific health needs of LGBTQ+ people and incorporates key components from our flagship “Coaching Skills for Clinicians” to provide the most comprehensive and in-depth training on LGBTQ+ specific healthcare and communication that is currently available.

The CCA is pleased to collaborate with Oakley Coaching to offer this innovative course to members across Canada. Our aim with our diversity, equity and inclusion strategy is to foster an inclusive and accepting culture, confront discrimination and be more aware and responsive to the needs of diverse groups. We continually look at new courses and training that would benefit our members and felt this course would be a valuable and important addition to our offering.

Dr. Ayla Azad, DC, MBA, CCA CXO
We wanted to help provide training to members who wish to create inclusive environments for LGBTQ+ patients. By taking the time to complete this training, clinicians will be better equipped to provide enhanced patient care in their offices. Understanding the needs of the LGBTQ+ community through continuing education will help clinicians continue to create safe spaces for all.

We are enormously proud to see our online training programmes expand their international reach and are thrilled to collaborate with the Canadian Chiropractic Association as leaders in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for healthcare professionals.
