Oakley Coaching launches Confident Clinicians Academy

For immediate release: Wednesday 29th September 2021

Oakley Coaching is an accredited Coaching and Mentoring Business Consultancy who have recently launched a groundbreaking new online learning platform for healthcare clinicians, “The Confident Clinicians’ Academy.” The Academy offers self-directed, blended online learning for healthcare clinicians and manual therapists around the world who are working in both public and private healthcare facilities. Oakley Coaching’s flagship course Health Coaching and Motivational Interviewing Skills for Healthcare Professionals launched in August 2021 with an impressive cohort of students from all healthcare disciplines, and other shorter specialist courses such as LGBTQ+ Healthcare: Key Considerations for Manual Therapists, and Ethical Marketing for Healthcare Practitioners are launching soon.

Oakley Coaching is run by wife-and-wife team Rhiannon and Philippa Oakley. They have a background working in both the NHS and private healthcare sector, and with their first-hand experience they have a deep understanding of the challenges faced by those within the field of healthcare. The communications course has been designed to be accessible for all, offering a blended learning approach with live webinars to implement learning, ask questions and discuss case studies in a group setting. Students also benefit from lifetime access to a private Facebook group for further peer-to-peer learning.

Rhiannon comments, “The feedback we have received so far from our first cohort of students has been incredible and they are already utilising their new skills to improve the care they provide to their patients. We are delighted coaching skills have become such an important part of a clinicians toolbox to provide better care for patients, which has recently been recognised in changes to the Continued Professional Development (CPD) requirements set out by the General Chiropractic Council, and the inclusion of these skills as part of the NHS’s Long Term Plan to provide true person-centred care for all.”

Philippa continues, “The Confident Clinicians’ Academy was born as a result of the pandemic, when CPD courses were cancelled, and yet we still had our professional requirements to fulfil. Oakley Coaching hosted online webinars for over 400 clinicians, providing high quality CPD training sessions whilst also fostering a sense of community and camaraderie that helped us all during those difficult months of lockdown. As a result, we have been invited to speak to global audiences including the Evidence Based Chiropractic Network in Canada, World Congress of Chiropractic Students, and World Federation of Chiropractic Biennial Congress.”

Rhiannon adds, “Due to increasing demand, our next enrolment period for our Health Coaching skills course will open in November and we’re looking forward to introducing more clinicians to coaching skills to improve their outcomes from care, build stronger professional relationships and empower their patients to achieve their health goals.”

About Oakley Coaching

Oakley Coaching was established in 2016 in response to the growing demand for coaching within the public and private healthcare industry, following our own personal experience of being coached and finding it so powerful for our own personal development.

We have spoken at the COPA Conference, the British Chiropractic Association autumn conference, and have have delivered lectures through the Royal College of Chiropractors and the global Evidence-Based Chiropractic Network. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we were delighted to support the CPD requirements of UK Chiropractors, Osteopaths and other manual therapists by delivering accredited CPD webinars and sending out over 200 hours of CPD certificates.

The Confident Clinicians Academy was launched in August 2021 with its flagship self-directed online learning course Health Coaching and Motivational Interviewing Skills for Healthcare Professionals. Enrolment for this course opens only a few times year. Other shorter courses are being added on a regular basis.

We are proud to work with all practitioners that put their patients first, and are proud to be proactive, performance-driven coaches who can assist your team at all levels.
